This product designed for the scientific class to demonstrate the relation of the relative movement of Earth, Moon and Sun, the form of the day and night, the phase of moon.

Structure

It consists of the Earth, Moon, Sun model and drive gear.

Demonstration

1. Demonstrating the relation of the relative movement of the Earth, Moon and Sun

Choose electric type or manually type to demonstrate. When the Earth revolves around the Sun clockwise, the Earth revolves on its axis. At same time, the Moon revolves around the Earth, and revolves on its axis.

When it takes the Earth one year to travel round the Sun, the Moon turns round the Earth twelve times. And the Earth revolves on its axis 365 times. This instrument is simulation demonstration, therefore, it takes the Earth one year to travel round the Sun, the Earth revolves on its axis 36.5 times.

2. Formation of day and night

Choose electric type or manually type to demonstrate. Watch that one side faces to the Sun, the other side does not face to the Sun. Facing to the Sun is day, and the other side is night. Earth rotates on its axis once very 24 hours. There is day and night at any other spot on planet, except from the south and north polar circle. They will occur polar day and polar night. This experiment is phenomenon of the alternation of the day and night.

3. Change of the wane and wax of the Moon

The moon cannot light itself. Thus, the moon we usually see that is reflection of the sun’s rays. As same as the Earth, one side of the moon faces to the Sun at any time (except eclipse). But it revolves around the Earth continuously, so sometimes light part face to us, sometimes dark part faces to us. Therefore, it forms the change of the wane and wax of the Moon. Astronomically, it called “alternation of the Moon”.

Before demonstrating, turn on the power supply first, and then push the instrument with hand. When the Moon is in the middle of the Sun and the Earth, the dark side of the Moon faces to the Earth. The phase of the moon call “crescent moon”. (also call “shuo”, it equals to the first day of lunar month). Then the Moon revolves east around the Earth east continually. At this time, the phase of the moon will vary with the movement of the moon, and forms the Waning moon, first quarter moon, the gibbous moon, full-moon (also calls “Wang”, it equals the fifteenth or sixteenth day of lunar month), gibbous moon, last quarter moon, waning moon, crescent moon. It changes periodically.

4. Eclipse of the Sun and Moon

Turn on the power supply, and then push the instrument with hand. When the Moon is in the middle of the Sun and Earth to form a line, the shadow of the Moon cast the Earth and the eclipse of the Moon happens; When the Earth is in middle of the Sun and Moon, the shadow of the Earth shades the Moon and the eclipse of the Sun happens.

Eclipse of the Sun and Moon generally occurs three and four times for one year, but the frequency of the demonstration is more than the actual frequency. After all, the instrument is just simulative object. The volume and distance of the Sun, Moon and Earth can not made exactly as same as the real object.

5. Four seasons origin

Earth axle centers circle the solar revolution track plane oblique to become 66 degrees 34 minute included angles form the annual variation of the subsolar point in the terrestrial latitude (between the south Tropic of Cancer), as a result of the sunshine time and the angle change, produces the diurnal long and short, the cold and hot intercourse , they form the four seasons.

When demonstration puts through the photosource, put the instrument by the hand, to causes the pointer of machine in “6.21” about summer season, Northern pole of the Earth to turn towards the sun, this time the most part of Northern Hemisphere shining by sun, The days get longer and the nights get shorter, the climate is burning hot. The few part of southern hemisphere shining by sun, the daytime short, the dark night is long, the climate is cold. Go on push the machine, to cause the painter stops in “12.22” about winter season, this time situation and just right opposite “3.21” about summer season. When the pointer is in “3.21” about spring season or     in “9.23” about autumn season, this time the sunshine between winter and summer, therefore the  day and night equal the climate is temperate of north and south hemisphere.

Debugging and use

1st, When using should inspect the complete machine system whether to revolve freely, whether the clamping stagnation or does become less crowded, and aims at the special details to make appropriate processing, please adjustment of the machine before using.

2nd, this machine with 4 C type battery, Please notice the place of anode and cathode in series when pit the batteries in battery box of the gear box .

3rd, When makes the electro motion operated demonstration, first relaxes the gear box fixing nut, then put the gear box toward to the electrically arrow direction,  tightened screw nut, The teeth of drive gear and the peaceful gear of the gear box . Earth system turn counter-clockwise.

4th, When makes the manual demonstration, similarly relaxes the gear box fixing nut, then put the gear box turn back to the manual arrow direction, causes the gear separation; push the gear box by hand, rotates slowly toward the counter clockwise on the demonstration.

The matters needing attention

1. Please take out the battery, when not using, guarded against the battery will damages the spare part in the gear box because battery to be leave so long then damaged.

2. Please take good care of properly, being sure not bearing.

3. moisture-proof, dustproof, corrosion preventing, when demonstration should pay attention to Lubricate the gear train and the wheel axle, in order to help the rotation, reduces the noise.
